Degree and transcript attestation in Malaysia
Academic documents carry one extra requirement that the Ministry sets out explicitly, and it has to be satisfied before Wisma Putra will attest them.
The Ministry of Education step is not optional
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that educational certificates must be endorsed or certified with a name print, position and stamp by the Ministry of Education before Wisma Putra will attest them.
A degree presented without that endorsement does not meet the stated requirement, so we confirm it is in place before anything is submitted.

Issuing authority or notary public
The document is verified at source, or certified as a true copy by a notary public.

The relevant ministry
Education certificates go through the education authorities. Other documents go through the ministry that governs them.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The consular division at Wisma Putra in Putrajaya legalises the document for use abroad.

The destination embassy
The embassy or consulate of the destination country adds the final stamp. Most sit in Kuala Lumpur, a few in Putrajaya.
Foreign university certificates

Why was my degree rejected at Wisma Putra?
Check the Ministry of Education endorsement first. Wisma Putra requires educational certificates to carry a name print, position and stamp from the Ministry of Education, and a degree without it does not meet the requirement.
Do transcripts need the same treatment as the degree?
Usually yes, and most Gulf employers ask for both. We confirm what the specific embassy wants before submitting.
Can you attest a UK, US or Australian degree?
Yes. A foreign-issued document is first authenticated by that country's mission in Malaysia, then follows the chain.
