Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia work visa and document attestation
Saudi Arabia is one of the embassies we submit to directly in Kuala Lumpur, for the visa and for the documents the visa depends on.
Both halves, one team
We prepare and submit the visa application at the Saudi embassy in Kuala Lumpur, and we run the legalisation chain on the documents supporting it. Doing both in one place is the point, because a visa application stalls the moment one supporting document is missing a stamp.
Saudi Arabia issues apostilles. That does not help a Malaysian document
Saudi arabia has been a contracting party to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention since 7 December 2022. People reasonably assume that means an apostille will do.
It will not, because the Convention only operates between two contracting parties, and Malaysia is not one. A document issued in Malaysia and going to Saudi Arabia still needs the full consular legalisation chain, ending at the Saudi Arabia mission. The Convention would only apply in the other direction, for a document issued in Saudi Arabia and used in another member state.

The chain your documents follow
Malaysia does not issue apostilles, so Saudi-bound documents carry consular legalisation instead, finishing at the Saudi embassy here.
- 01
Issuing authority or notary public
The document is verified at source, or certified as a true copy by a notary public.
- 02

Education certificates go through the education authorities. Other documents go through the ministry that governs them.

The embassy or consulate of the destination country adds the final stamp. Most sit in Kuala Lumpur, a few in Putrajaya.

Questions
Do you handle the visa as well as the documents?
Yes. For Saudi Arabia we do both, and the application is submitted at the Saudi embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
Can I use an apostille for Saudi Arabia?
No. Saudi arabia joined the Apostille Convention in 7 December 2022, but the Convention only works between two member states and Malaysia is not a member. A Malaysian document needs the full legalisation chain.
Which documents does a Saudi work visa usually need?
It depends on the employer and the visa category. Send us the offer and the documents you hold and we will tell you what is missing.
Can you do this for a whole team?
Yes. Employers and agencies use us for staff documents and visas in batches.
